Thelma A. Mathes

Thelma A. Mathes was born Jan. 10, 1923, to Charles and Agnes (Brown) Cooper in Lamar, Nebraska. In 1947, she married Ralph C. Allgaier. From this union came one son: Rand. Following Ralph’s passing in 1977, Thelma married Ivan Mathes in 1982.
Thelma moved to Aberdeen from Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1976. While living in Aberdeen she worked for North Central Harvestore Systems until retirement. Thelma enjoyed playing bridge with her friends.
Thelma passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor of Aberdeen, South Dakota. She was 99 years of age
Grateful for having shared Thelma’s life are her son Rand Allgaier of Syracuse, New York; former daughter-in-law Luella Miller; and many nieces and nephews and their children.
Thelma was preceded in death by both her husbands, Ralph and Ivan; one sister; and four brothers.
Graveside memorial services will be held Friday, Nov. 18, 10:30 a.m. at Green Lawn (Lamar) Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to any favorite charity.
