Robert Dale Hamilton

Robert Dale Hamilton was born April 11, 1934, in Palisade, Nebraska to Mary E. (Butler) and Orval O. Hamilton. Bob grew up in Wauneta where he attended grade school and Wauneta High School.
On May 13, 1956, Bob married Clara Jean Maddux, and the couple settled in Wauneta where they raised their two sons, Doug and David.
Bob was inducted into the U.S. Army on June 6, 1956, and served honorably, being discharged on June 5, 1958.
Returning to Wauneta, Bob was an auto mechanic and a part of Hamilton Chrysler. He also farmed near Wauneta and enjoyed fishing, hunting, taking care of his farm animals and riding motorcycles. He especially loved spending time with his family. Bob was a member of the Wauneta Fire Department and Wauneta Gun Club. He was also a Boy Scout leader.
Bob passed away Friday evening, July 30, 2021, at the Wauneta Care and Therapy Center. He was 87 years of age.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Orval Hamilton; his in-laws, Cecil and Mabel Maddux; wife, Clara in 2020; brothers, Ray and Rodney Hamilton; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hamilton; and great-grandson, Caleb Robert Gibbs.
Survivors include his sons, Doug Hamilton of Alliance and David (wife Tina) Hamilton of Wauneta; nine grandchildren: Toby (Tracey) Hamilton, Jeff (Brandi) Hamilton, Kayla (Chris) Cielocha, Justin (Holly) Hamilton, Jenny (Bryan) Gibbs, Shelby Brennan, Megan Brennan, Lorenzo Cavanaugh, Cheyenne Cavanaugh and Dennis Cavanaugh; great-grandchildren: Mason, Elena, Parker, Maren, Brayden, Brylee, Kaitlynn, Audrey, Alicyn, Jase and Camren; brothers, Marvin (wife Joni) Hamilton of Wauneta and Richard (wife Cheryl) Hamilton of Wauneta; sisters-in-law: Lela Hamilton and Joan Maddux, both of Wauneta, and Lorraine Hannah of Stratton.
Graveside services with full military honors were held Wednesday morning, Aug. 4 at the Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta. Pastor Elias Munkindia officiated.
Memorials have been suggested to the Wauneta Volunteer Fire Department and the Wauneta Senior Center.
