Robert (Bob) Gollner

Robert (Bob) Gollner (76) passed away at his home in Omaha, Nebraska, on Dec. 28, 2023.
Bob was born on May 21, 1947, in Imperial. He graduated from Venango High School in 1965 and Kearney State College in 1970. He taught history for the Omaha Public School District before spending the next 28 years as a probation officer in Omaha. He approached his work, and his life, with compassion, care, humility, and a wonderful sense of humor. Bob retired from the District Probation Office in 2009.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Hart Gollner; father Harvey Gollner; and brother Donald Gollner. He was a dear uncle to Brent and Patty Gollner of Hastings, Donya and Rick Hengehold of Edwardsville, Illinois, Nikki Pfeiffer of Madrid and BJ Gollner, also of Madrid; and brother-in-law to Judy Gollner of Imperial and Billie Shelton of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was cherished by a wide circle of friends and family, former colleagues, neighbors, and anyone lucky enough to know him. He was “Uncle Bob” not only to his nieces and nephews and their children, but to so many others who will miss his sharp wit, kindness and friendship.
Bob requested a private family burial at Fairview Cemetery in Grant. We invite you to please celebrate Bob’s life in your own ways, as you cherish his memory, and know that he will be with you in spirit. If you are inclined, memorials may be made to Bob’s church, St. Margaret Mary’s in Omaha, the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
