Paul Monteith

Robert Paul Monteith was born Aug. 1, 1957, in McCook, Nebraska, to Gertrude (Bopp) and John Hiram Monteith II. Paul grew up in Imperial, Nebraska, and he spent his whole life in the community except for two years in college and two years working construction in the Denver, Colorado area.  
Paul returned to the Champion area to farm for several years. For most of his adult years, he was a self-employed tradesman.  
Paul enjoyed hunting, photography and music. His real passion was for man’s best friend, “the dog.” He was especially dedicated to every dog he ever owned. Paul was never married and has no children. As a life-long bachelor, he lived life to the fullest and did it his way.

Paul passed away Oct. 31, 2021, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. He was 64 years of age.  
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Monteith.
Survivors include two brothers: John Monteith of Benkelman and Thomas (wife Amy) Monteith of Lincoln.
Funeral services for Paul will be held Monday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. (MT) at Liewer Funeral Home, Imperial. A Celebration of Life will follow the funeral at the VFW Hall in Imperial. A private family inurnment will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
A memorial in Paul’s memory has been suggested to the VFW Post #4688, Imperial, Nebraska.
