Michele (Shelly) Kay Kilpatrick

Michele Kilpatrick, age 58, of Imperial, Nebraska, passed away at the Kearney Regional Hospital on Dec. 26, 2022.
Shelly was born to Darrell Kilpatrick and Marilyn (Frasier) Kilpatrick in California on Nov. 30, 1964. She graduated from Simi Valley High School class of 1983. She attended Moorpark College and majored in Animal Husbandry. She had a love of animals especially horses.
Her early years she lived in Somis, California on a little ranch where she could be surrounded by her beloved animals. She also had amazing computer skills even at a young age and worked at several industries utilizing those skills.
About 10 years ago she decided she wanted to fulfill her life- long dream of moving to Nebraska. She had spent every summer there as a child at her grandparents’ ranches. She loaded up her five cats, one dog and two horses and made the move. While there she worked at the Imperial post office. She spent the last several years playing her horse computer games, listening to books on tape and enjoying her cat, Flynn.
Shelly was extremely sweet, always had an amazingly caring heart and would be willing to help anyone. She will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her dad and her mother.
She is survived by her sister, Renee Hamilton of Chico, California and children Ryan, Mikayla and Cody; brother Darren Kilpatrick of Joes, Colorado and children Meagan, Camron and Kaiden; and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services are to be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 621 W. Phillip St., North Platte, NE Saturday, Jan. 7 at noon mst/1 p.m. cst.
Family and friends will have a Celebration of Life next summer (July 2023.) She will be buried next to her mother and maternal grandparents in the Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
