LuAnna June Schneider
LuAnna June Plymell was born Aug. 20, 1933 in Wellfleet, Nebraska to Merle Plymell and Gladys (Conklin) Plymell.
She grew up and graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1950.
She married Lawrence Shill on Dec. 6, 1952. To this union three children were born, Christine Marie, Ivan Eugene and Katherine Irene. They lived in North Platte until moving to Elsie in 1970, where they lived until Lawrence’s passing in 1989.
LuAnna moved to Imperial and drove a school bus for 25 years. She loved being a school bus driver with the “extra children” she had throughout the years. To this day, many would stop LuAnna to give her a hug.
She never knew a stranger and could talk your leg off.
She married Harold Schneider on Feb. 12, 2000 and lived in Cozad until his death on Feb. 8, 2013. She returned to Imperial in April of 2014 and renewed several old friendships and made new ones as well. LuAnna was proud to have made it to her 90th Birthday.
LuAnna found her way to heaven early morning Aug. 27, 2023 in Imperial.
LuAnna is survived by her daughter Christine (Donnie) Schilke of Imperial and Kathy Johnstone of Pear Valley, TX and her son Ivan (Brenda) Shill of Gothenburg; one sister Wanda Faimon of Kearney; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and many friends. She will be sadly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and son-in-law Ernie Johnstone.
A graveside service was held at 10 a.m. (MDT) Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, with Randy Hayes officiating.
At her request, Banjo & Moose (her bear buddies) will dance with her in heaven.
