Lola Jones, 64, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Feb. 2, 2024, at Lincoln.
Lola was born Feb. 7, 1959, at Mayville, North Dakota to Lawrence and Lorraine (Putman) Boldt. She was raised in California.
On March 6, 1980, Lola married Rick Jones. The couple made their home in California before moving the family to Madrid in 1990.
Lola was a nurse at Chase County Community Hospital before becoming the Hospital Administrator. She and Rick moved to Sandpoint, Idaho in 2013, where she continued working in the nursing field. She loved living in the mountains, where she could kayak, hike and enjoy the outdoors. She returned to Nebraska in 2022 to be closer to her daughters and grandkids. She lived at Lake McConaughy for a year before moving to Lincoln as her health declined. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lorraine; husband, Rick; and her brother, Leland.
Survivors include her daughters Olena (Ryan) Martin and Desiree’ (Shaun) Poppe of Ogallala; son, Jake Jones of Coeur D Alene, Idaho; and grandchildren, Gabriel, Brock, Bronson, Charlie and Nyah.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Lola’s memory to the Bluefield Project Curing FTD. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com, where the services will be streamed live.
Memorial services will be on March 23, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala with Pastor Matt Waitley officiating.
