Lois Marie Bussell

Lois Marie Bussell of Loveland, Colorado, passed away in her sleep March 9, 2020. She was 90 years old.
Lois was born June 22, 1929 on the Beard farm eight miles west of Champion, Nebraska, to Oath and Mabel (Devlin) Beard. She was the youngest of 10 siblings, all of whom have passed away except for a sister, Thelma.
Lois was married to Olen Jerome Bussell on April 9, 1950 at the parsonage in Champion.
From this union three children were born: Brenda, Brian and Gina.
In 1970, the Bussell family sold their farms, loaded a beet truck with their belongings and moved to Loveland. Lois was a cook and baker for Loveland High School and Lincoln Elementary in the Big Thompson school district for 23 years, retiring in 1996.
She enjoyed gardening, growing her roses and spending time with her grandchildren.
Lois is survived by her three children: Brenda (husband Dan) Smith, Brian (wife Wanda) Bussell and Gina Bussell; her sister, Thelma Gibb; sisters-in-law, Maxine Beard and Gladys Hoffmeister; six grandchildren: Jer’al Matson, Taren Bussell, Jason (wife Kelly) Bussell, Ryan (wife Veronica) Bussell, Heather (husband Jon) Anderson, Dustin (wife Angie) Smith and Chad Smith; 12 great grandchildren: Natalie, Alexandria, Sirius, Simon, Caleb, Kalie, Mikaela, Kelsie, Hayden, Kolten, Logan, Emalynn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen.
Cremation has been completed. A memorial service will be held Aug. 27 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Imperial with a reception following the service.
