Linda Lea (Land) Oxford was born Jan. 30, 1949, in Central City, Nebraska, to Charles and Vivian (Smith) Land. Linda attended Red Fern Table Grade School and graduated from Oconto High School in 1967. She continued her education and completed a CSN medical aide course in 1974. Linda then went on to graduate from McCook Community College in 1994 with a two-year degree in business.  
On June 4, 1967, Linda married David Rapheal Oxford Sr. in Lexington. The couple first settled in Chicago, Illinois, to finish schooling for one year, then returned to Lexington. David entered the U.S. Army. After he returned from Vietnam, they lived in Hawaii for a short time. When Linda and David returned to Nebraska, they resided in Oconto, Lexington and Stockville before they settled in Enders in 1976.  
Linda was employed at the Chase County Community Hospital for 17 years and the Imperial Manor for 20 years.
She enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles, gardening, photography, reading and participating in the powder puff demolition derby. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Linda passed away Sunday morning, June 20, 2021, at Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln. She was 72 years of age.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol and husband, Vito Arena; brothers, Ronald Land and Steve Land; in-laws Clarance and Katharine Oxford; and niece, Kimberly Mohlman.
Survivors include her husband, David Oxford; sons, Dave Oxford and wife, Trisha, Chad Oxford and wife, Tara, all of Enders; four grandchildren: Trevor, Tyler (Mallory), Samantha and Destry Oxford; brother, Gary Land and wife, Dianna, of Hastings; sister, Bonnie Maize and husband, Ray, of Pierre, South Dakota; sisters-in-law, Sheri Griffith of Broken Bow and Debbie (Don Richert) of Waco; brothers-in-law, Gene (LaVonne) Oxford of Broken Bow and Jerry Oxford of Oconto; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 17 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial with Pastor David Kahle officiating. Inurnment will follow on Monday, July 19 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell at 3 p.m. CT.
As per Linda’s wishes, cremation was chosen with no visitation. A memorial has been suggested to the American Lung Association.
