Darren Preston Roe

Darren Preston Roe entered this world on July 2, 1988 in Topeka, Kansas to Kenneth and Mary Roe. When Darren was 4 years old, he went to live with James and Marvene (Porter) Roe. They became part of his forever family. He went to be with his siblings in heaven, Andrew and Amanda, on May 15, 2023.
Darren was always the center of attention with his noise-makers. He enjoyed going anywhere and everywhere. He has been camping, river-rafting, mountain climbing, cave-diving, amusement parks, Disney World, Houston Space Center, and many other family vacations. He loved flying, but he had to have the window seat to ensure the ground returned. Darren loved the water, annoying people, and anything that could make noise. Darren will be remembered for his love of keys and his side-eye smirk. Darren was known as the “Taz” and would leave no chair unturned. All things had to be drop tested to make sure they were “safe.”
Darren has overcome many obstacles in his life. He has defied all odds to continue to be with his loving family. He was a very strong young man; if he liked you, you knew it. If he didn’t, you knew it as well. He hated the pandemic because he wasn’t able to get out and see people and he couldn’t see people’s faces. He hated staying home. Unfortunately, the pandemic came knocking at Darren’s door. He overcame this and was able to come back home.
Darren was special to many people in his life. He has impacted many lives and will be forever remembered. When you hear noises or beeping, Darren is reminding you he is still around.
Darren was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edward and Willa (Houston) Roe; Leo and Onita (Newman) Porter; uncle, Keith Roe; brother, Andrew Roe; sister, Amanda (Roe) Douglas.
Survivors include his parents, James and Marvene (Porter) Roe; sisters, Tammy Roe and Laura (Roe) and John Blomstedt, Christine Roe; brothers, Isaiah Roe, Robbie, Jason, and Benjamin Roe; nieces, Renzie, Cheya, and Iara Walkowski and Tryphena Douglas; nephew, Simon Douglas.
