Charles Lambert Anderson was born April 24, 1930, at Palmer, Nebraska, to Oliver and Martha (Jaeger) Anderson. He attended District #23 in Chase County for eight years and then went on to work on the family farm.  
Charles was inducted into the U.S. Army on Sept. 15, 1951, and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged on June 18, 1953, and returned to Chase County to work on the family farm.  
On Aug. 25, 1954, Charles was united in marriage to Marilyn McNeil at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Garber in Imperial, Nebraska. To this union three children were born: Peggy, Betty and Ronald. They made their home on the family farm near Imperial. Charles was a lifetime farmer, and working in the fields was his life’s work and hobby.  
Charles passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, at the Imperial Manor. He was 91 years of age.  
Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn; parents, Oliver and Martha; sister, Leola; brother, Bryce; son-in-law, Steve Smith; and brother-in-law, Lee Ridlen.
Survivors include daughters: Peggy Smith and Betty (husband Ed) Lee, all of Imperial; and son, Ronald Anderson of Imperial; four grandchildren: Jarod Smith, Jamie Jussel, Holly Lempke and Nicole Peterson; two step-grandchildren, Tiffany Jameson and Patrick Lee; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Colleen Ingalls of Buena Park, California; brother-in-law, Clifford McNeil of Riverside, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside inurnment services will be held Saturday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m. (MT) at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial, with Rev. Melody Newman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial in Charles’s memory has been suggested to the Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial. Online condolences may be left at liewerfuneralhome.com. Liewer Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
