Ann Morey Nolon

Ann Morey Nolon, longtime resident of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at her Denver residence.
Ann was born May 17, 1937, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was the daughter of Jack and Margaret (Robinson) Nolon. The family resided during her early childhood in Manitou Springs, Colorado, before moving to Imperial, where the family operated a cattle ranch west of Champion.
Morey, later known as Ann, graduated from Chase County High School in 1955 and attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs. She lived in Greeley, Colorado and Flagstaff, Arizona, prior to returning to Nebraska and settling in Ogallala, where she lived for over 60 years. In 2017 she moved to Denver, Colorado, to be closer to her daughters.
Ann worked for many years as a legal secretary, raised prized roses and enjoyed both watercolor and oil painting. Her artwork was displayed at the Art Gallery and Front Street. Ann enjoyed life to its fullest, had a contagious laugh and a delightful sense of humor, and will be dearly missed by her extended family and circle of friends.
Survivors include her brother John (Anne) Nolon of Tarrytown, New York; daughter Kelly (Greg) Sophinos-Margheim of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren Kenny (Whitney) Robertson, Katie (Jerry) Robertson-Orr, Kylie Watkins, Jamie (Keegan) Meismer, Nick Sophinos, Luke Sophinos; nephew Sean Nolon and niece Jennie Nolon; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters Jodi (Larry) Guenin of Ogallala and Robin Watkins of Lakewood, Colorado; and her longtime partner Lynn Barnica.

A graveside service will be held on Oct. 8, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Ogallala Cemetery.
