Villarreal’s MSU helmet project debuts Saturday

While Armando Villarreal is a big Husker fan, another football game Saturday will grab some of his attention.
Mississippi State University (MSU) will wear special uniforms for their game with Arkansas Saturday.
And each of the MSU helmets bear a specific design  painted by Villarreal especially for the game.
After getting off from his day job at Rowley Welding, Villarreal would head to the shop to begin work on the helmets.  All in, it took him four months to complete the project—196 helmets. (And the two extra he did for himself and the Schutt helmet rep.)
The way Villarreal got the job is a story in its own right.
Last year, he was displaying his work at an expo for Major League Baseball.
