Thirty-two puzzle enthusiasts compete in annual tourney

In a celebration of National Puzzle Day, an annual Jigsaw Puzzle Tournament was held Jan. 27 at Lied Imperial Public Library, sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
Ten teams competed in two divisions. The most popular division was for four-person teams, which drew six groups. Four two-person teams competed in a separate division.
In all, 32 people competed in the annual tournament, said Library Director Beth Falla.
This year, the puzzles featured sports equipment. Those on two-person teams put together a 500-piece puzzle, while the four-person teams worked with 1,000 pieces.
First place prize in each division was free entry into the 2019 contest. This year marked the eighth year for the tournament.
Here are all of the competitors and how they placed.
