Summer museum program planners awaiting green light

The Chase County Museum has, for years, featured a series of weekly summer programs beginning on Mother’s Day. “We have most of the Sundays scheduled, but we are on hold until Governor Ricketts gives the go-ahead,” said Charley Colton, President of the Chase County Historical Society.
The programs need to be able to have groups of over 10 to really be successful, he said.
The summer schedule is usually kicked off with two Sundays displaying homemade quilts by the Crazy Quilt Guild members with a member’s work highlighted.
“With the state and government safety protocols for COVID-19 in place, we will be working around everyone’s schedule. We will fit in whatever programs we can throughout the summer in light of recent events affecting all gatherings,” Colton said.
The auctioneer featured every summer for a “Chase County Road Show,” one of most popular museum events, will fit in his appearance when possible, he said.
“The auctioneer’s schedule has been pushed back also, and he will need to honor other obligations as well,” Colton said.
A museum summer event schedule will be posted as soon as more information is available.
