Settlement is tentatively reached in CREP appeals

Duane Dinnel and the Chase County Commissioners reached a tentative agreement on Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) valuations.
Dinnel and John Maddux proposed on Jan. 22 to drop the recently filed appeal of TERC’s 2017 decision if the county would “correct the acreages and classifications” on two sales based on Farm Service Agency and Upper Republican Natural Resource District office records from when the sales occurred.
The group reviewed the land sales used to establish CREP values and the two sales.
