Second graders’ dioramas featured show at museum Sunday

This Sunday, the Chase County Museum will be featuring Arlys Cupp’s second grade class projects from last spring.
The Chase County Schools (CCS) second graders were tasked to research a chosen state in the U.S., create an information board and build a diorama or “box float” demonstrating important facts about the state they chose, said Cupp.
The students who created the floats are invited to accompany their dioramas on Sunday and be available to answer questions about their work.
The box floats will be on display from 1 to 4 p.m. with refreshments  provided.
“The students did an amazing job on their boxes, or ‘floats’ as they are actually called. They were all so good I made a call to some of my contacts in the education division at the Nebraska State Fair,” Cupp said.
She said they were very impressed by what they heard and decided to create a new category.
Cupp will be transporting the box floats to Grand Island in August to be entered in the education division at the state fair.
