SCORE camp registration now open

SCORE (Science Camps Offer Rewarding Experiences) camp registrations are now open.
Registrations can be made online at www.scorecamp.com or via application forms that can be found at the library, city office or The Imperial Republican.
This year’s camp is scheduled for June 12-16 with the registration fee at $110. It is open to first through sixth graders (2016-2017 school year).
Because there is a limited number of how many applicants can participate, parents/guardians are encouraged to register their children as soon as possible.
All participants are required to go to final registration day on June 5. Between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. students can pick up their superhero-themed t-shirts, lunch cooler, water bottle and schedule.
This bi-yearly interactive science camp is co-directed by Chris Tomky, Charlesa Kline and Kim Spady.
“It’s amazing to see kids learn and grasp the ideas they are being taught,” said Kline.
SCORE camp is sponsored by the Chase County Schools (CCS) Education Foundation, local businesses, organizations, individuals and various grants.
The grants SCORE received this year included Chase County KENO funds, the Logan Bauman Memorial Foundation, the Upper Republican NRD and an anonymous donor.
A limited number of scholarships are available for applicants. Students must complete an application and present a need. Scholarship applications are available at the CCS main office.
