The number of postal customers has not slowed down, but they are heeding the signs asking people to stay six feet apart.
Post office sees little change in foot traffic
Imperial Postmaster Barb Prottsman said the number of people coming to the window has not been affected by COVID-19 yet.
There hasn’t really been an increase in use of the drive-up box either.
“It’s always been busy,” said Prottsman.
She stays in contact with headquarters for any changes or directives, she added.
“We have tons of safety talks that keep everyone mindful of what to do,” she said.
She explained that they wipe all surfaces down with disinfectant at least twice a day, and signage is posted reminding patrons to keep a distance of six feet between them while inside.
“So far, there hasn’t been any mention of changing hours or availability for window business,” Prottsman said.
