Police chief is contesting complaint filed with law enforcement commission

Imperial Police Chief Ryan Wisnieski indicated through his lawyer last week that he will contest a complaint with the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, seeking his decertification as a law officer.
Wisnieski’s attorney, Steven Delaney of Bellevue, said he was notified by the commission they had investigated a complaint filed by Duncan Einspahr of Imperial.
As a result, the commission indicated they were moving forward by filing a formal complaint with the attorney general seeking decertification.
Delaney said as of Tuesday no formal complaint has been filed by the attorney general.
Delaney said they have officially notified the commission they will contest any attempt to decertify Wisnieski as a law officer.
