Parish, community say farewell to Fr. Lorenz

Fr. Bernard Lorenz was the guest of honor Sunday at a parish potluck dinner and reception as he completes 10 years of service in the Imperial area as the pastor at St. Patrick Catholic Church. This Sunday, June 18, will be his last Mass in Imperial, as he moves to McCook next week to serve in an expanded role in the church’s Hispanic ministry and will be serving 11 southwest Nebraska counties. More than 150 people attended Sunday’s events. The St. Patrick’s Altar Society presented Fr. Lorenz a painting of his favorite Bible verse from Colossians 3:3. He not only was an active parish priest, Fr. Lorenz was also a member of several community organizations and did not miss many community or school activities. (Johnson Publications photo)
