Paper delivery day late due to Day of Mourning for 41st U.S. President
Subscribers of The Imperial Republican and other Johnson Publications newspapers will see a delay in this week’s issue delivery by one day due to the National Day of Mourning for the late Pres. George H.W. Bush.
President Donald Trump declared Wednesday as a national day of mourning in memory of the 41st president of the United States.
President Bush, 94, passed away Friday, Nov. 30.
As a result, all federal government offices, including the U.S. Post Office, were closed Wednesday.
As a result, the newspapers could not be delivered to offices Wednesday for mailing. Papers went to local offices for postal box and route delivery Thursday morning.
Delivery to regional and out-of-area mail subscribers will also be delayed an additional day due to the declaration.
