Paintings a sure sign fair’s near

One sure sign that Chase County Fair is near is the start of the decorative window paintings that grace numerous Imperial businesses. The paintings were started this week by Chelsea Zuege, above, and fellow painter Crystal Peterson. Here, Zuege was working on a touch-up at Veterinary Services along Highway 61 Tuesday. This year, proceeds from the window sales will be earmarked for the Chase County Veterans Memorial project. The Chase County Fair, Aug. 13-20, will be in full swing three weeks from now.
