Nicole Havel, P.A., was recognized last month for her service to the Chase County Community Hospital (CCCH) and Clinic.
The Caring Kind award is given by the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA).
The award pays tribute to the “most caring and dedicated health care employees.”
NHA member hospitals and health systems select a recipient within their institutions to receive the award.
“The recipients of this award go above and beyond the call of duty to demonstrate compassion for patients and dedication to service excellence in their job responsibilities,” the award description said.
Havel was among four CCCH employees nominated for the award. The entire hospital staff then voted from those four nominees.
“It couldn’t have gone to a more deserving employee,” Human Resources Director Julie Sharp said.
“She’s very approachable. From young children to the elderly, she’s just got a sense about her that makes you feel comfortable,” she added.
“I’m appreciative and humbled by it,” Havel said, “especially for not being (in Imperial) for very long.”
Havel started her career at CCCH in late October 2017.
She received the award at the NHA annual convention luncheon in Omaha.
