Nichols resigns from CCCH board

Chase County Community Hospital board member Eddie Nichols of Wauneta tendered his resignation following the board’s regular meeting June 20.
Nichols became a member of the board after his appointment by the county commissioners in 2005.
Nichols said this week that he and wife, Donna, had discussed him leaving the board after the bond election due to some health issues.
He said his departure wasn’t  related at all to the bond election that did not pass.
He said he’d like the commissioners to appoint someone from the Wauneta area to give the community a voice on the board.
Looking back, he said the hospital has come a long way  from where it was when he joined the board.
“I think an awful lot of the people at the hospital,” he said.
Based on his own experience, he said the hospital people really care about the patients they serve. “They take good care of you,” he added.
Hospital CEO Steve Lewis said Nichols and the contributions he brought to the board will certainly be missed.
Lewis said Nichols always shared his wisdom when it came to problem solving.
