New venue for alumni banquet a hit

The venue change for the annual Chase County High School alumni banquet proved to be a big hit.
This marked the first year the banquet was held at the new expo building on the fairgrounds.
Alumni Committee President Marlon Kunnemann said the new venue provided lots more space for the event compared to the school’s commons area.
He said the feedback was positive and the committee will likely use the facility again next year.
The class pictures were still taken in the CCS gym preceding the banquet. That also gave returning alumni the opportunity to see the school and look at class composites.
Kunnemann said attendance at this year’s banquet was around 200. The Class of 1967 and the Class of 1977 had the largest attendance of classes.
Other classes represented included 1942, 1952 and 1972.
Jack’s Country Cookin’ catered the meal and The Beverage Barn set up a bar for refreshments. The 9th St. Singers provided entertainment.
The committee hired DJ Lance White who provided sound and played for a dance following the banquet.
Kunnemann said a number of people came just for the dance and mixed with class members who remained there after the banquet.
