New candidate seeking commissioner’s post
A new candidate is seeking a position on the board of Chase County Commissioners.
Sid Bartels of Imperial filed for the District 3 commissioner seat now held by Don Weiss Jr. Bartels filed Tuesday on the Republican ticket.
Three other filings came into the clerk’s office this week, all incumbent office-holders.
An incumbent county official, a Wauneta-Palisade School board member and Imperial Airport Authority board member filed the past week.
Incumbent Chase County Clerk Debra K. Clark filed for re-election to the clerk’s position on the Republican ticket.
Incumbent school board member Allison Sandman filed for re-election to the Wauneta-Palisade board.
Kenneth Schilke of Imperial filed for re-election to a six-year term on the Airport Authority.
For most elected offices, Feb. 15 is the deadline for incumbents to file for office. New office-seekers have until March 1 to register as a candidate.
Nebraska’s Primary is set for May 15, while the General Election is scheduled for Nov. 6.
