Matthew Musgrove, a 2003 Chase County Schools graduate, will start his new position as Chief Financial Officer at Chase County Community Hospital (CCCH) Monday.
Musgrove obtained his bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University in political science and pre-law. He is currently working on his MBA in finance and accounting, also from Fort Hays.
Musgrove moved back to Imperial in April 2014 after his mother, Alice, passed away.
He took a position at Waypoint Bank then, and was promoted to branch manager in August 2015.
“(The position) matches my background and my education and training pretty well,” he said, “but you know also a good strong hospital system is a necessity for a small community.”
“We’ve got a lot of dedicated staff and providers at the hospital,” Musgrove said, “and I just want to be a part of making the hospital succeed and be a thriving part of the community so it can continue to grow.”
Musgrove isn’t the only one excited about the change.
“Monday can’t come soon enough,” Hospital CEO Abby Cyboron laughed. “I am so excited for him to be here. He’s such a good person, and he’s so passionate about the town of Imperial.”
Cyboron, who served as the CFO before being named CEO in November, has worked with Musgrove over the years through his position at Waypoint, “so he’s familiar with our financials.”
“I think he’ll be fantastic,” Cyboron said. “He’s so passionate about Imperial, too. That was one of the big things that I just loved about him.”
There were other candidates who applied for the position, but Cyboron said Musgrove’s passion for Imperial is what sealed the deal.
The position at CCCH had been open since Cyboron was promoted.
Musgrove’s wife, Elise, works at Hometown Agency in Imperial.
