MPCC official: local support crucial in meeting fundraising goal for addition

It’s confirmed. Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) has met its fundraising goal for an addition at the Imperial campus.
That means expanded space to serve not only area students, but businesses and their employees, as well, who need additional training and meeting space.
Bonnie Kruse, MPCC Director of Institutional Advancement, said the $925,000 project couldn’t have happened without strong local support.
“We were so happy with the response from the local businesses, organizations and individuals toward this project,” Kruse said.
In order for MPCC to approach other external donors, Kruse said they needed to show the expansion had strong support locally.
“They wanted to see it supported locally. They were satisfied,” she said.
Crucial to the local fundraising was strong support from city of Imperial and Chase County officials.
The fundraising campaign started in spring 2018, and one of the first sources of major financial support was the city of Imperial, she said.
