More snow, more moisture highlight 2018 weather year
One thing certainly stands out after a quick look at the 2018 weather statistics for Imperial—moisture.
The word makes any ag producer smile, but when the 23.62 inches of moisture recorded last year includes more than 48 inches of snow, that may be another thing.
Moisture and snow were up considerably last year, after Imperial and the Chase County area came off a fairly dry year in 2017.
Seven more inches of moisture were recorded in 2018 compared to 2017, and local residents got used to seeing snow. The 48.7 inches of snow last year was almost six times what was measured in 2017.
