Joni Schilke lives half a mile west of Bernhardts, where a few weeks ago, Kristi Bernhardt’s Welsh Corgi, Gracie, was almost taken.
Schilke’s son, Shay Martin, raises dogs on their property.
A man was walking around their property when Schilke wasn’t at home.
Martin was home doing chores.

“He said (the man) was in a ‘gray’ pickup and doing appraisals or something,” Schilke said.
“(Martin) didn’t get the license plate or ask for a business card, he was busy, he just thought ‘what the heck is this weirdo doing walking around our place?’”
Schilke is thankful nothing happened during the instance.
“(Martin) has put so much money into raising those dogs,” she said.
