Ministerial Alliance hosting jam session, potluck

The Imperial Ministerial Alliance will be hosting a Christian jam session later this month.
The music portion of the evening will be held Sunday, March 22, at the Champion Community Center from 3-5 p.m. A potluck dinner will start around 5:30.
“Bring whatever food you want,” said organizer Dave Hogsett.
Hogsett represents the Saving Grace Cowboy Church on the ministerial alliance.
Rob Browning will “be our lead piano player for anybody that wants to sing and doesn’t have anyone to play for them,” Hogsett said.
Ministerial alliance secretary Melody Newman said the public is welcome, regardless of church membership.
“I think we’re leaving it pretty wide open for whatever people want to come and do,” she said. “We’re just hoping for a fun afternoon.”
“If you just want to come and clap along and listen, we’d love to have you,” she added. “Just bring something to the potluck.”

Ministerial Alliance purpose
The Ministerial Alliance  is a group of pastors from area churches in Imperial who meet once a month.
The group, who meets for a breakfast meeting at MorningStar Cafe, “supports each others’ ministries, prays for each other and for our community,” Newman said.
The group helps out transients and community members who need help “when we’re able to.”
They also sponsor the annual Christmas Day dinner.
“But I think the point of (the alliance) is to encourage the Christian community to work together,” Newman said. “There’s more actually that unites us than separates us.”
The group currently consists of:
Zion Lutheran Church—David Kahle
First United Methodist Church—Kent Griffen and Melody Newman
Christ Faith Outreach—Junior Kline
Berean Church—Matt Maxwell
Church of Christ—Wesley Wynne
Crossroads Wesleyan—Alex Gebert
Saved by Grace Cowboy Church—Dave Hogsett
St. Patrick Catholic Church— Fr. Lothar Gilde
