Manor’s Hot Dog Day proves a success

Hot Dog Day at Imperial Manor July 31 was a great success, said Eric Haider, Imperial Manor/Parkview/Heights administrator.
There were 295 attendees who enjoyed five different kinds of hot dogs and polish sausages, baked beans, chips and watermelon.
The most popular hot dog was the “Flaming Hot Dog” which had jalapeño peppers, Haider said.
Children enjoyed games which included the popular bouncy house, yard games and water fights, he said.
A watermelon seed-spitting contest was enjoyed with trophies and medals awarded in four different age groups in the contest.
“It was fun to watch people from little kids to 90 years old trying to spit seeds as far as they can. Everyone in attendance enjoyed the food and games. We will be doing this every year. Thank you to everyone for your support and participation,” Haider said.
    Here are the seed-spitting results:
Ages 6 and under—Makenzie Harris, 1st; Riley Harris, 2nd; Caleb Sporing, 3rd.
Ages 7 to 21—George Colton, 1st; Forest Greene, 2nd; Name unavailable, 3rd.
