Library’s Escape Room recognizes 50th anniversary of moon landing
One of Smokin’ on Broadway’s contests Saturday was the “Escape Room” held at Lied Imperial Public Library.
Four teams were scheduled at four different times to find clues hidden throughout the library and figure out the riddle that would help them open a locked box.
The team that accomplished this task in the shortest amount of time won the contest.
The theme for this year’s contest was chosen in honor of the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing on July 20, 1969, said Lisa Fortkamp of Lied Imperial Public Library.
Contestants were given a written scenario about a spaceship from another galaxy that had landed on Earth.
Inside the spaceship, there were no aliens, but instead, a mysterious box.
In order to open the locked box and get the message, clues were hidden throughout the library for team members to find to figure out how to access the box within the time frame.
The winning team who opened the box in the shortest amount of time consisted of Brad Foote, Harrison and Tilly Foote, Jacci Brown, Myla Brown and Malachi Christensen.
Each member of the winning team received a free pass to Imperial Theatre.
