Joggin’ for Frogmen will celebrate fifth year in Imperial
Saturday of Memorial Day weekend is going to be another busy one, kicking off that day with the fifth annual Joggin’ for Frogmen race in Imperial.
Organizer Kelsey Owens of Champion said flyers are out and early registration is encouraged for the May 26 event because the race fee increases as the event nears.
As in the past, proceeds from the Joggin’ for Frogmen will be earmarked for the Navy Seal Foundation, Owens said.
People of all ages can take part in the 5K race that starts and ends in Imperial’s Campbell Park along West 6th Street. There will also be the Tadpole race for youths age six and younger after the 5K concludes.
Owens said there is a $5 discount for the 5K no matter when people register by accessing a code available on the Joggin’ for Frogmen promotional info cards. Those are available at area businesses, the Imperial city office and Chase County Schools.
In addition, youths age seven to 17 can also submit a special code (hs15off) when they register online which keeps their 5K participation fee at $20 no matter when they register.
In addition to place winner recognition, prizes and medals in both races, a number of other prizes will be awarded for the following special efforts:
Best dressed Tadpole
Fastest overall male and female in 5K
Top four runners wearing their boots
Most patriotic
Furthest traveled
Slowest participant
