Imperial Theatre receives new projector, equipment

After an approval from the city council to purchase a used projector in November, Imperial movie-goers got to experience the new equipment last weekend.
At the Nov. 19 meeting, the city council approved the purchase of a four-year-old Barco series two digital projector, which came with a Dolby integrated digital server and related equipment from Heartland Theater Services, LLC out of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
    The cost came to $42,141.95.
The four-year-old projector came from a theater in Valentine that had closed.
“It’s the difference between a series one and a series two,” Heartland employee Dillon Woods said. Woods and Heartland owner Roger Bockert came to Imperial last week to install the new equipment.
