Imperial still lags just below 50% in U.S. census response
City officials continue to encourage residents to complete the 2020 U.S. census.
As of Monday, Imperial, not yet to a 50% response, still lags behind most cities in the state, while Chase County and Wauneta have gone above the 50% mark.
As May concluded on Sunday, Imperial residents’ response rate was at 49.8%, just under the halfway point.
Wauneta has a 61.3% response, while Chase County is at 51.3%.
Nebraska’s response has risen to 66.7%. The response in the United State as a whole is 60.5%.
Tyler Pribbeno, Imperial Community Development Director, reminds people there are two other ways to complete the 2020 census if they did not receive the mailing or no longer have it.
