ICFF surpasses goal of $115,000

    Saturday, at Smokin on Broadway, many non-profit organizations had booths set up to raise money for their organizations. As of 2:00 p.m. Monday, donations had reached $113,000, with three hours left to donate.
    The Imperial Community Foundation Fund is matching donations up to $115,000, by 5:00 Monday. On Tuesday morning, the final tally for donations soared past the $115,000 mark, finishing at $131,005.
    Approximately 350-400 people attended Saturday’s event at the Chase County Fairgrounds.
    There were about a dozen non-profit booths set up at the fairgrounds, with activities for the kids and adults as well as some giveaways for people visiting their booths.
    Chris Larson entertained on the stage from 6:00-7:00. Larson was a former resident of Imperial and graduated from Chase County High.
    Kelsey Jo and the Wildcards took to the stage at 7:00. The event was cut short when a thunderstorm blew through around 7:30, bringing strong winds and rain. The winds persisted until about 9:00.
    It is great to see how well the community of Imperial comes through with financial support for the future of this town.
