Hospital bond defeated at the ballot box

Chase County voters voted down a $20.5 million bond for a new hospital facility in a mail-in election completed Tuesday. A total of 1,688 voters cast ballots in the election with 984 voting against the bond compared to 704 in favor. That represents a turnout of 67.76 percent.
