High school Prom follows ‘Enchanted Forest’ theme

Another Prom at Chase County Schools is in the books. Saturday night’s annual event, which had “The Enchanted Forest” theme, kicked off with the dinner, followed by the Promenade, then the dance and after-prom party, the latter organized by parents. One of the highlights after the Promenade concluded was the crowning of the king and queen from a group of six candidates. Selected as this year’s royalty were Caine Haarberg and Kaley Hauxwell, above center, who were crowned by last year’s king and queen, Bryson Fisher and Katelyn Wheeler. Also nominated as royalty candidates were Bryce Zuege and Kayla Schilke, at left, and Caleb Weiss and Lauren Gockley. Since this year’s Prom also fell on St. Patrick’s Day, one couple took that to heart. Below right, senior Joel DaMoude and his date, Tana Ohrman from Benkelman, showed up in a matching green dress and suit patterned with question marks, resembling the Riddler.
