Heskett presented with veteran farmer award
Ernie Heskett of Imperial was presented with the Bayer Crop Science Outstanding Veteran Farmer Award.
The award is meant to give recognition to veteran farmers who not only volunteered to defend the United States, but continue to care for America by being good stewards of the land and the backbone of the American economy.
Each year, Bayer selects 10 veteran farmers to receive the award.
They also donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization chosen by the selected winners.
Heskett chose the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department as his organization.
