Hat Day brings back memories as Zion celebrates 100th

In the ongoing celebration of Zion Lutheran Church’s 100th anniversary, a Hat Day for the ladies was held on Mother’s Day, May 14. Several tables of hats from the past were displayed as well as a display board showing hats worn from 1920 through 1960.  A special hat that was displayed was worn by Joyce Daschofsky Pankonin on Easter Sunday in 1957.  The next public event planned by Zion Lutheran Church will be held at Champion Lake on July 9. A church service will be held there at 9 a.m. with games and meal to follow. Organizers say everyone is welcome to take part. (Courtesy photo)
