Has spring finally sprung?

We are two weeks into spring, but the expected warmer weather hasn’t been consistent. Events were cancelled again last week when another light snowfall, misty rain and cold temperatures visited the area. But this week may have helped the spring season turn the corner. After Friday and Saturday temperatures only reached the 30s, highs have been in the 50s and 60s this week. The warming weather has coaxed out the tulips, above, showing off their blooms in Jan Jaeger’s landscaping along Douglas Street. It was easy to find people outdoors, too. Brothers Samuel and Silas Paisley were enjoying the warm afternoon with the neighborhood cat, Smoke. Meanwhile, Deb Harmon was power-raking a yard on West 5th Street during Tuesday’s high 50-degree readings. (Johnson Publications photos)
