Grief Support Group to start up again

Chase County Community Hospital (CCCH)  is sponsoring the Grief Support Group every Tuesday for six weeks beginning March 13 through April 17 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
It will be held in the hospital’s basement conference room.
People attending the group can enter through the clinic doors.
Facilitator for the group will once again be Bill Bryan, minister of the Westside Church of Christ.
Deb Hrcka, of CCCH, will represent the hospital and be assisting Bryan with the group.
Hrcka stressed that the support group isn’t just for people who have lost a loved one. The Grief Support Group is also for people suffering grief and loss from divorce, loss of a job, a child leaving the nest, loss of a cherished pet or loss of physical ability due to illness or injury.
All of these situations can cause grief and a feeling of loss in one’s life.
Grief comes in different stages in one’s life. It can be sorrow, misery, sadness, anguish, pain, distress, heartache, heartbreak, torment, affliction, suffering and much more, said Hrcka.
This group is a safe place to share and hear from others in similar situations.
“Talking is a huge key to emotional healing,” said Hrcka.
The group is open to anyone in the community, whether the loss is recent or not, she said.
There is no charge to join the group, and you don’t need to attend every week. All meetings are confidential.
Food and beverages will be provided.
For more information contact Hrcka at 308-882-7290 or Bryan at 308-883-0264.
