Game & Parks planning for its 2021 centennial

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is planning to recognize  100 years of providing park and recreation sites in the state.
There will be a centennial celebration meeting at Enders Lake Golf Course Thursday, Oct. 1, at 6 p.m., said Beau Licking, parks superintendent for Chase and Dundy counties.
“The purpose of the meeting is to go over details about what the celebration will entail, and to get volunteers to help with the activities,” Licking said.
The celebration is planned for June 4, 5 and 6, 2021 at Enders State Recreation Area, he said.
The public is strongly encouraged to attend the meeting.
There will be refreshments provided after the meeting.
“The first established state recreation area was Chadron State Park in 1921, and Enders was established in the late 60s,” Licking said.
