Events lining up for Ball; artist numbers growing

Allison Sandman is excited about this year’s Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball, but there’s one feature that has her jacked.
“I think in the history of the Cattlemen’s Ball, we will have the best display of artists and vendors ever,” said Sandman, one of the event’s hosts.
“We have been promoting the holy heck out of our artists and vendors,” she said. “I think it’s because of our social media promotion.”
Nineteen vendors are lined up so far. Sandman is uncertain of the number of artists who have expressed interest, but, “I firmly believe the art tent will be the fullest we have seen it in years.”
Organizers are expecting as many as 3,500 for the Ball June 7-8 near Wauneta. It will cover about 40 acres on Wayne and Chris Krausnick’s land, five miles west of Wauneta.
Proceeds from the ball go to cancer research. Last year’s raised more than $1.7 million.
Organizing this year’s ball is ongoing, and there will be a large information meeting March 24 at Broken Arrow Cellars winery in Imperial.
