Dusty road conditions lead to collision

Chase County Sheriff Kevin Mueller, right, and Deputy Mason Holmes investigated an accident Tuesday, June 12, south of Imperial on 331 Avenue one mile north of 730 Road involving a semi and a pickup pulling a horse trailer. Both vehicles were transporting cattle. The semi was the front vehicle with the pickup following behind. While traveling uphill, the semi slowed in speed. The pickup was unable to see the semi slowing due to dust being kicked up. The pickup rear ended the semi trailer. The 2013 silver Chevy pickup, driven by Sebastian Sis of Imperial, sustained significant damage to the front end. The semi, driven by Nathan Johnson of Imperial, had minor damage to the rear of the trailer. (Johnson Publications photo)
