Democrats to gather for county convention

    The Chase County Democratic Party Convention will be on Saturday, May 26, at Imperial Public Library from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
    All county residents are invited to attend, but only registered Democrats may vote during the county convention. Election of county officers and other business will be conducted, including election of delegates and alternates to the Nebraska Democratic Party’s State Convention to be held on June 22-24.
    State Convention delegates will elect some state officers, all state central committee members and some caucus leaders. Additionally, delegates will conduct other party business such as updating rules, bylaws, resolutions and the NDP issue platform.
    In order to attend the state convention, Democrats must be elected at the county convention as a delegate or alternate.
