Crowds gather for Vision of Trees

Despite the weather, the Vision of Trees in Champion drew crowds both Saturday and Sunday.
Committee member Rhonda Smith said they hosted so many people on Saturday that they ran out of potatoes for lunch.
The event also brought a full house for the performance of the 9th Street Singers that afternoon, Smith said.
“It was packed...standing room only,” she said.
Also performing on Saturday was Marla Smith, along with her guitar students.
Phyllis Mock’s piano students performed on Sunday, as well as a form of talent show by area children.
“We didn’t run out of food on Sunday,” Rhonda Smith said. “We had just enough; only a little bit of soup left.”
