Crossroads Wesleyan Church welcomes new pastor, family
Parishioners at Crossroads Wesleyan Church (CWC) welcomed a new pastor and his wife, and said goodbye to a well-loved interim pastor and his wife.
CWC has been seeking a new pastor for some time now.
Pastor Phil Harris and wife, Betty Lou, were previously in Imperial for six years while he served as Executive Pastor before semi-retiring in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In early February of this year, Pastor Harris returned to fill the pulpit once again while the search for a permanent pastor continued.
Last Sunday, prayers were fulfilled when CWC welcomed Pastor Alex Gebert and his wife, Katie to take over the reins.
Harris said he was privileged to install Gebert to his new position at CWC.
“Through history, God always handed the mantel from servant to servant to lead His people. I am stepping aside and Pastor Alex will take over,” Harris said.

Pastor Alex Gebert received his Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministry from Southern Weesleyan University in Central, South Carolina.
He went on to graduate in May of this year with a Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky.
His wife, Katie, also graduated from Southern Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She was previously teaching kindergarten in Kentucky.
